LEVEL ONE INTERCULTURAL WORKSHOP – CULTURAL AWARENESS (3 hrs)
In this workshop the participants will examine different definitions and aspects of culture such as perspectives of time, nature of relationships, or communication and work styles, norms and values. They will examine their knowledge, awareness and sensitivity in regard to other cultures and the sources they gained the knowledge from which will touch on stereotypes, generalizations, bias, and prejudice. They will be introduced to tools for managing a culturally diverse workforce.
LEVEL TWO INTERCULTURAL WORKSHOP – CROSS CULTURAL COMMUNICATION (3 hrs)
In this workshop the participants will examine aspects of Intercultural difference in communication styles, such as facial expression, tone of voice, eye contact, personal space and gestures. They will learn about differences in formal and informal styles and expectations of different cultures. This cultural knowledge will be related to the workplace in terms of different forms of communication such as delivery of training, giving directions, making a request, offering an apology, giving an opinion, resolving conflict, giving a compliment or recognition, giving constructive feedback.
LEVEL THREE INTERCULTURAL WORKSHOP – PRACTICAL APPLICATION (3 hrs)
In this workshop the participants will examine the knowledge they have acquired from the Level One and Two Workshops, examine the Cultural Competency of their workplace overall and brainstorm ideas on ways to improve intercultural relationships through looking at common assumptions, misconceptions, and misunderstandings. Could include looking at policies, practices and procedures with a possibility of revision and positive changes to be suggested, moving forward.
