Journeys of Hope the Films - World Refugee Day

Jun 20th 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Welikoklad Centre - 4922 – 49 Street, Red Deer

Attend the free screening of  JOURNEYS of HOPE the FILM on June 20th, to commemorate World Refugee Day from 7pm at the Welikoklad Centre, 4922 – 49 Street, Red Deer. The films, telling the stories of five local refugees were created by local Film Maker Rueben Tschetter (recipient of the “Emerging Artist Award” chosen by the Red Deer  Arts Council), of CACHE Productions, from the performance of Journeys of Hope last October 1st for Alberta Culture Days and including interviews with the local refugees, and backstage magical  moments showing some of the rapport and rewarding relationships with over 75 people who contributed through film, dance, mime, poetry, and songs to bring this performance to the public. A fine example of integration through the arts.

Come and join us to see the short Documentary and Films of each play, meet the local refugees, some of the cast, crew and creators, and enjoy the reception to follow in the lobby of the Welikoklad Centre. Co- hosted by Central Alberta Refugee Effort and Red Deer College.
