Position:          Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Reports to:      Executive Director 

Location:         Red Deer, AB

Status:             0.75 FTE (~28 hours weekly) Maternity leave position (February 2019 – January 2020)

Our team at Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre is growing and changing and we want you to join us!  At Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre our mission is to provide hope to children with special needs, the families who love them and the communities that care for them. 

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the marketing, communications and promotions of all programs, services, events, fund development and campaigns at Aspire.  The ideal candidate will be flexible, creative, have a positive outlook and able to build rapport.  There will be training and turnover time allocated for this position, as well as for Aspire overall. 

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Coordination of all communications; audience segmentation, print materials, e-news
  • Website Management
  • Public Relations
  • Social Media
  • Donor Recognition
  • Brand consistency
  • Advertising
  • Development and implementation of new or changing communication strategies

 Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or related field
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign would be an asset
  • Brand Management Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work with others
  • Strong understanding of Social Media
  • Working knowledge of print media, radio advertising and media effectiveness
  • Experience in the non-profit sector would be an asset
  • Proficiency is required in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.  The wage for this position is commensurate with Aspire salary grid and experience.  There is an opportunity for flexibility in approaching the weekly work schedule.  There is occasional weekend and/or evening work involved.
