Red Deer Arts Council
Position / Placement: Alberta Culture Days Volunteers
We would love some assistance to ensure people know where to go both within the different venue buildings and outside to guide people between them.
We have four hubs: Culture Services (old Central School), multiple Downtown venues including City Hall Park and Ross Street businesses, Cronquist House, and the Museum/Laft Hus/Heritage Square area.
On Saturday only, handing out brochures, directing people to reach the venues from your location and answering questions as possible. By rotating indoors and outdoors during shifts, we hope to reduce the potential for a chill - please dress appropriate for the day's weather. We will have lanyards to help identify you, which can be worn over any clothing.
A good understanding of how to reach different venues from where you are - the layout of downtown, etc. Information and some training will be provided.
Volunteers at Culture Services do enjoy a provided lunch, courtesy of Central Alberta Immigrant Women's Association. Other venues will likely have snacks to share.
Red Deer Culture Days is a a collaborative event organized by dozens of community groups, Red Deer Culture Days shares the joys of arts and culture with our community on the last weekend of September. Saturday offers a multitude of events around the city in 4 main daytime venues: Museum/Laft Hus, Culture Services, Cronquist House and several downtown businesses including: Chronicles Café, Meeting Waters, Sunworks Living, Welikoklad Event Centre, Ross Street and City Hall Park.
