Position / Placement: President (Board of Directors)

The CRD Board President provides leadership and support to guide the activities of the Board of Directors and the Society’s artistic staff. Preference will be given to an individual with experience in an executive position on a Board of Directors with a not for profit society.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures the Board adheres to Society bylaws, objectives and policies


  • Prepares agendas for all CRD Board meetings
  • Chairs the monthly CRD Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting

  • Recruits and orients CRD Board of Directors; effectively delegates responsibility to Directors

  • Maintains contact with the Artistic Director, choristers, parents and the community

  • Monitors all activities of the Society and provides support and assistance as required

  • Prepares an annual calendar of events with the Artistic Director

  • Prepares a report for the Annual General Meeting

Preferred skills and experience:
  • Previous volunteer leadership and Board governance experience

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills

  • Ability to address conflict effectively while maintaining positive member relations

  • Ability to understand the business of the Society and support Artistic staff in the pursuit of the vision and mission of the organization

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
