Royal City Soccer Club
Position / Placement: Summer Soccer Camp Volunteer
Being a volunteer is often the first step towards becoming a staff member at the Royal City Soccer Club. Volunteers are treated like staff and expected to maintain a good work ethic by assisting all staff onsite and providing a fun and safe learning atmosphere for campers. Volunteers should be energetic, enthusiastic, responsible and a team player. Volunteers will be required to watch a brief orientation video. All other duties and responsibilities will be assigned by the staff during the camp.
Duties include assisting staff with:
- Soccer drills and warm ups
- Set up and helping with camp activities
- Assisting with supervision in the swimming pool
- Helping camp staff with any other needs that arise during the camp week
Some experience with soccer is needed if interested in morning or full day sessions.
Comfort with swimming and supervising children in a pool is also required if interested in afternoon or full day sessions.
A police check is required only if you are over the age of 18.
Volunteering with us is a great way to gain some work experience in child care and recreational sports. You get to be outside playing soccer and build meaningful relationships.
Many of our volunteers have gone on to work as Camp Counselors and worked their way up to Regional Supervisor.
The best feeling about volunteering with us is knowing that you are teaching children the basics of soccer and other important skills that they can learn while growing up.
