Volunteer Role Title: Volunteer ESL Teacher Assistants
Program Area: LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) / ESL (English as a Second Language)
C.A.R.E. is seeking a dedicated Volunteer to support an Adult Somalian woman, who is visually impaired, in her English as an Additional Language classroom, preferably 2 days a week for 2.5 hours each day (current schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays) to the end of January 2021.
Duties / Responsibilities
· Assistance with one-on-one English Language learning (assigned by the classroom teacher)
Time Commitment: 2.5 hours on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM
This is a great opportunity to make newcomers feel welcome, meet new people, and gain valuable in-class educational assistant skills in a multicultural environment.
This position requires a successful Vulnerable Sector criminal record check. Letters for RCMP provided by the Volunteer Program Coordinator.
